Spontaneity

Anthony and I decided Friday night to hit up Orange Beach this weekend. It was a totally unplanned trip, but so nice to get out of New Orleans for a few days. We went down Saturday afternoon, had some seafood at a little dive off of the beach, and then lay out in the sun for a few hours this morning.

I'm coming home with a sunburn, and a few more items for my Carpe Diem list! Based on this trip, I'm adding: #7 Para-sail and #8 Look hot in beachwear.

I figure my best time slot for achieving #8 will be while I'm still in my 20s, which brings me to another update. I've been working really hard at improving my health and wellness! Some folks from work started a Biggest Loser challenge in our office, so I joined that. I've also been eating a lot of healthy natural foods, counting calories, and trying to fit in some exercise.

My goal is to get back to 'just after AmeriCorps' Amy, which is probably the fittest I've been in my adult life...

...Now that may not look incredibly fit to the untrained eye - but it's pretty dang fit for an Allen girl. (Thanks for the giant calve genes, Dad!)

I digress... It's going well so far. I've lost about 6 pounds and feel a lot better just from cutting the crap out of my day-to-day diet. Now if I could just get into an exercise routine...

Anyway: The beach was great. Life is good. To be continued...
