I'm sorry Mom and Dad. I never thought it would come to this.

I grew up in North Texas in the Cowboy's hay day.... I'm talking Emmit Smith, Micheal Irving, Troy Aikman - Three Superbowl Rings. On game days our neighbors would come over, we'd tape a blue number 8 on our white dog Nessie, and scream for the Boys until we lost our voices.

All this to say... I never... NEVER thought I'd find myself quietly rooting for the Eagles.

But early this season, when the Cowboys beat the Eagles in their first meet-up, Choi could barely look at me afterwards. He was crushed and angry, and I - the sole Cowboy fan in the vicinity - became the living embodiment of everything that was wrong with the world and the target of his football wrath. (Did I mention Philly fans are notoriously known as the 'angriest' fans in the nation?)

So now the Eagles are in the playoffs, the Cowboys and Saints are out - and I find myself secretly hoping the Eagles will win, lest I have to find a new boyfriend. I am, in fact, typing this over the mixed screams of joy and panic, that is the soundtrack of Choi watching an Eagles playoff game.

It turns out that the only thing worse than the Eagles winning a football game, is living with an Eagles fan after they've lost one.

Marathon Girl would say the same thing about living with a Brocos fan after they collapsed and failed to make the playoffs for a third striaght year.
