"Welcome to the Crazy"

I'm going to write that on my bunk, for whoever sleeps there after me...

Here's a photo of the first (and so far, my favorite) gut team I lead down in New Orleans. They're standing on the trash they pulled from the house behind them. They came from Bonaventure, New York, and were amazing.

The group we have in this week has got me worried, but hopefully we'll still get the job done. Last week, I did four houses in four days with a group of law students from Washington. (That's awesome, by the way.) With this group, I'll shoot for two.

I'm sad to report the latest casualties of my war with mold and hurricanes: 1 lost cell phone, 1 broken (but duct taped into working order) cd player, 1 broken digital camera, 1 broken pair of flip-flops, and 1 torn sweatshirt.

When they say don't bring anything valuable to a disaster zone, they mean it.

Choi, Kenda and I have started planning our road trip to Texas in mid-April. I asked them what they'd like to do there. Kenda would like to see a rodeo, or if not - maybe my uncle's cattle ranch, and Choi would like to experience a "real bar-b-que". I can't wait to see my folks, and take the girls to the zoo.

Wow, the picture really puts it into perspective...is your camera completely thrashed? I have a spare I can send if you need it...
