apathy and vertigo

"The only thing necessary for the perpetuation of evil, is for a few good people to do nothing."

I heard this quote recently, and decided it wholly expresses my frustration with apathy.

On a wholly unrelated subject... has anyone out there seen 'Vertigo' (Hitchcock) and if so, what's the deal with the last thirty seconds of that movie!?? I'm dangling in confusion and suspense.
