Marty Casey Rocks So Hard.

Took a trip up to the Smoky Mountains with my sister and another family this weekend. It was absolutely gorgeous up there. This picture really doesn't do it justice. It was the kindof thing you just couldn't get to come across on film.

We also took a train ride that ran right next to the Nantahala River. It was stunning. I hope some day I can go back on my own and maybe do some rafting. On the way back, we stopped and hiked about half a mile up the Appalacian Trail, which I've been psued0-obsessed with after reading half of A Walk in the Woods, (which I highly recommend to anyone who likes to learn, but not by reading boring fact sheets - It's totally enthralling, while informative, and funny).

In other news, the Red Cross called up Americorps to help clean up the mess Hurricane Katrina left. The director of the Southeast Campus said that we'll be helping with the aid work there for the next two years, and that its almost guaranteed that everyone in the class will spend time there. I'm glad because I find it so frustrating to watch that kindof stuff on TV and feel like there's nothing I can do; but I'm also a little apprehensive after hearing all the horror stories on the news.

The following paragraph is brought to you by my niece, Madeline::

Oh! And I am newly obsessed with Rockstar INXS. Seriously. Particularly with Marty Casey. Check out the clip of him singing, "Don't Change", or the one of him doing "Hit Me Baby One More Time", which I suddenly love when Marty sings. Actually, all of his clips are amazing. I highly recommend going through all the weeks and watching them all.

I guess thats it! I'll post again after I see my dorm and meet my team on Wednesday.
